Write Away
Students in grade 8-12 improve written communication. In the intermediate version, students focus on paragraph and essay writing, and grammar and spelling. Senior students focus on writing longer, formal essays, constructing bibliographies, researching and recognizing and author’s style and craft.
Math Masters (Grades 9, 10, 11)
This course is designed for students who are in need of math review before moving into the next grade. Small groups of students work with the instructor on course-specific material in 2 hour sessions daily for two weeks in August. Registration runs from June 1st until July 24th. For these courses to run, a minimum number of students will be required.
Grade 10 Literacy Test Preparation Course
Students in grade 10 must write the OSSLT to receive a high school diploma. Our simulation programme will focus on the four key writing areas and the three main reading areas.
Study Skills
Students develop organizational and time management skills as well as a variety of other important study skills. The intermediate version helps students make the transition to grade nine. The senior version provides students with more complex skills that will ensure success at the college and/or university level.
Study Smart Start, and Becoming a Master Student teach intermediate and senior students strategies that are key to significantly improved academic performance.
Academic Clinics in all courses during the summer allow parents flexible times to meet their vacation schedules.
Little Learners Programme (Ages 4-7)
Designed for youngsters K – 2, our popular Leeds Little Learners programme continues on through the summer. Students learn to read with confidence using our highly successful phonetic approach. They experience success and develop skills that will give them the edge in the early grades. Benefits gained by our graduates are amazing. Parents have stated that their children do better at school, have higher self-esteem, and are more enthusiastic about reading and learning. With regards to math, students learn early math skills using a practical, hands-on approach to make learning math more fun and interesting. Leeds Little Learners is available year round either after school or during daytime hours on days opposite your child’s JK/SK school schedule.
